Jealousy

I noticed a woman today
bent over the pavement
with hurt knees and blue eyes;
Painting candy cane stripes
up and down the fire lane.
She told me that she is an artist
who works exclusively
with concrete curbs.
This is when I kicked her in the jaw
and ran off with her trust fund.
