“HALF A BEER LATER”

HALF A BEER LATER,
I REMEMBERED.
HALF A BEER LATER,
I FORGOT.
I COULDN'T DECIDE
WHICH I WANTED
TO DO MORE.
HALF A BEER LATER,
I REMEMBERED ENOUGH
TO KNOW IT WAS
WORTH
FORGETTING AGAIN,
SO I KEPT AT IT
UNTIL I FORGOT
WHY I WANTED TO
FORGET.
HALF A BEER LATER,
THE GOODNESS
WAS ALL THAT WAS
LEFT
BEFORE ALL THE BEER
WAS GONE
AND
THE GOODNESS LEFT ME
WITH A BELCH
AND I WAS ALONE,
DRUNK ON ALL I WANTED
TO FORGET.
