“lover”

You are my carousel horse
and I will ride you
round and round
so long as the music plays.
And then I will get off
to watch another mount you
while I, with sticky face,
lick pink cotton candy
just outside your gate;
Waiting my turn behind all others
to come on board and push my way
to rest my weight across your saddle
so long as the world spins
and the calliope blows.
