“promises”

Uncontained,
feelings like these
burst into flames
like light from the birth
of one thousand suns
refracted to the core
of one perfect diamond.
Pausing on this instant
long enough,
the universe explodes,
sending millions
of golden honey bees
out from their hive
like the dandelion
blown to hell
by the hurricane.

You are this light,
this wind,
this flower.
And I am blind for looking.
Lead me by the hand
to wherever I belong.
I will have something more
to give you
if I have not given it already.
