“A TOAST”

To meet the people
I'd have met
if I'd never left;
it makes me
want
to reach to them;
hold
some piece of who
I'd have
become
here.
Friends I'd never made
of my abandoned life;
I'm happy learning
it wouldn't all
have been
so bad
if I'd have stayed.
Of course,
we'd all be
going our own ways
by now,
so it's just as well
we never met
until now.

Best Wishes
in the future,
M. Kane
